Headlining Friday night, The Blockheads need no introduction. Formed in 1977 to promote Ian Durys’ album ‘New Boots and Panties, they have both a formidable history & pedigree. Linton looks forward to all the hits, old & new, plus much more.
Slowburner
After a mutiny on board ship, Captain Barnaby has been set adrift by his motley crew (the band split up at the beginning of June). Consequently The Revelator Band will now be replaced by Slowburner. Those who saw Slowburner last year will know that their reputation as one of the best live bands in the UK is well deserved.
The Revolutionaires
Influenced by the likes of Louis Jordan, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Roy Brown The Revolutionaires are a sizzlin’ hot 1950’s R&B combo that have scorched a trail across the live music venues of this land. Don’t be late – a great way to rock up a storm on a Friday night!
King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys
Rough, tough and always rocking, the legendary King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys’ hit Linton with their zany stage show which belies the fact that here is the finest, most authentic Rhythm Blues band ever to come from outside the USA. Just about the perfect close out Saturday night.
The King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys performance is dedicated to the memory of Jack Pegler.
The Stumble
What can we say – we broke our own rules to bring them back to Linton. If you saw The Stumble in 2007 then you know they are the complete outfit combining stage presence and superb musicianship with stunningly original material. Catch this band live at Linton again, you’ll be glad you did!

The other guise of Ramon Goose. Ramon has toured all over Europe with the likes of Eric Burdon, Blind Boys of Alabama, Eric Bibb and many other artists. Fluent in many styles as a guitarist. but preferring to veer towards but is sure to dazzle with his acoustic, slide and electric guitar skills.
Joanne Shaw-Taylor
She spent a summer touring Europe with the super group D. U. P. with fellow band members Dave Stewart (Eurythmics). Candy Dulfer (Prine) and Jimmy Cliff. If you can imagine the love child of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Dusty Springfield then you are beginning to get a feel for Joanne Shaw-Taylor’s mixture of fiery guitar playing, sultry vocals and 100% pure soul.
DC Fontana
Turned-on music to quake your bones & pluck your heartstrings with rhythm & bruise from deep within their collective soul . . . . DC Fontana are a mighty musical massive on a mission. The DCs tumble, twist & turn to produce a vibed-up sond that defies those who would pigeon hole them.
The Animals
Again no introduction necessary for the 2nd part of our Sunday double headline. Formed in Newcastle-on-Tyne, a port city and coal-mining hub in northeast England during the 1960’s, The Animals reflected their upbringing with brawling, blues-based rock and roll. Linton will 2008 close to the classic sounds of “Gotta Get Out of This Place”, “It’s My Life”, “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood”, “Don’t Bring Me Down” and the timeless “House of the rising Sun.
British Blues Quintet featuring Maggie Bell and Zoot Money
The first part of our Sunday double headline – kick back and listen to the legendary sounds of 5 master musicians that will rock you to your roots. The British Blues Quintet feature Maggie Bell (Stone The Crows), Colin Hodgkinson (Back Door & Spencer Davis Group), Miller Anderson (Keef Hartley Band & Spencer Davis Group) Zoot Money (Big Roll Band) and Colin Allen (Stone The Crows). We promise you a full on set of blistering blues.
Nu Blues
Ramon Goose has been described as the ‘cream of the UK’s emerging blues stars’. In his NuBlues guise he has forged a hip ‘nu’ sound influenced by Mississippi Delta blues & Chicago Blues then fusing it with Hip Hop loops and grooves. His CD “Dreams of a Blues Man” is an all time classic.
Big Blind
Influenced by the likes of ‘The Hoax’, ‘Stevie Ray & Jimmie Vaughan’, ‘Lester Butler’ & ‘Howlin Wolf’; but playing stunningly original material, Big Blind have received rave reviews. They landed a recording contract within their first 8 months and have produced their internationally acclaimed debut CD “Dressed to Win” in record breaking time.
